SOME DO’S AND DON’TS
Do:
- Be original: Posts must be unique and original to CISV.
- Come up with a great title that grabs readers’ attention and makes them want to read your piece: Ask yourself what problem does my article address? How will reading this make someone’s life better? or you can help them with this?
- Write a ‘catchy’ opening: Does the first sentence make the reader want to continue? Does your first paragraph tell the reader clearly and concisely what the article will be about?
- Write in your own voice: How would you explain your idea to a good friend? Use that conversational tone when you write.
- If you include photos, you need to have taken the pictures yourself or have permission to use them. It is recommended that images are horizontal to accommodate how they will be used online, these should be at least 940 pixels wide by 460 pixels tall.
- Articles should be approximately 800-1000 words long.
